Laurie Balise

I am a Seattle native and graduate of the University of Washington in Communications and Public Relations. I grew grew up pursuing sports competitively and dance and was a founding senior company member with Olympic Ballet Theatre in Edmonds in the 1980s. I received a scholarship to the craft of chorography conference in Geneva, New York and performed for multiple years in Pacific Regional Dance Festivals and venues in the NW. I was a public relations intern at Pacific Northwest Ballet and later served as the publicist for the Seattle Symphony during the opening of Benaroya Hall. I have appeared in two Pilates/core workout videos—“Curl” and “Angles, Lines, & Curves.” In addition to raising two now grown daughters, for the last almost 25 years I have used my extensive dance and fitness background to serve as an instructor in various capacities in my area at numerous dance schools and fitness establishments including VIBE Dance School, Columbia Athletic Club, Haven Dance Academy, Elegance Dance, LA Fitness, The Barre, KreativMndz, Diverse FitClub, NW Weight & Wellness Center, Run2BFit, Elevated Sports, Kindercare preschool, Reflections School of Dance, Mieko’s Fitness Clubs, and the Everett SD. I currently am the senior faculty member of the ballet department at VIBE, and teach numerous ballet private lessons. Over my career I have taught or subbed nearly every format offered whether Pilates, yoga, aqua fit, acro, jazz, HIIT, boot camp, etc etc. Over the years I have taught people of all ages and experience, and choreographed and produced many ballets and numerous musical productions for the Everett SD. I always enjoy sharing and inspiring others with my joy and knowledge of dance, fitness and movement!
